The Philippines International Pyromusical Competition used to be known as World Pyro Olympics is a once a year competition between makers of excellent fireworks from numerous countries worldwide.
The contest runs for 6 weeks (one day per week) and is held in the Philippines. The host of the event performs fireworks display at the beginning of the event and on the last night but doesn’t participate in the competition.
Each year spectators are treated to colorful and vivid artworks of fire and at the end of the event, a winner will be selected and announced. Next year there will be 6 countries to join the competition which will be given one night each to perform lively fireworks display; these countries are France (February 13), Germany (February 18), China (February 25), Canada (March 4), United Kingdom (March 11) and Australia (March 18) with the Philippines starting and ending the event with our very own Fireworks Display pride.
Tickets can be bought from http://www.pyrophilippines.com/, SM Tickets, SM Cinemas and other authorized ticket sellers around the SM Mall of Asia (available from the 3rd week of January). The event will be held every Saturday at 7:00pm at the SM Mall of Asia By The Bay but the gates will be open at around 5:00 pm.
Tickets can also be bought on the day of the event through roving ticket sellers and ticket booths in SM Mall of Asia. Upon 24 hours of buying your ticket, you will receive a ticket voucher through email; print that and bring it with you to exchange it for the actual ticket on the day of the competition at their redemption booth which is located at the north entrance near Starbucks and IMAX.
