They will follow the footsteps of the queens last year who cemented the reputation of the Philippines as a powerhouse in the international pageants. Nelda Ibe grabbed the first runner-up spot for Miss Globe while Elizabeth Clenci won the second runner-up for Miss Grand International. Chanel Olive Thomas secured a spot in the Top 10 placement and also won Miss Friendship in Miss Supranational. Rachel Peters finished in the Top 10 of Miss Universe while Mariel de Leon had her showbiz career debut as Coco Martin’s leading lady in the recent “Ang Panday” movie.

In the recent years, Binibining Pilipinas also produced the queens of the worlds. Pia Wurtzbach ended the Philippine’s 40-year drought when she was crowned the Miss Universe in 2015 while Kylie Verzosa emerged as the country’s sixth Miss International in 2016. Ann Colis also won the Miss Globe crown in 2015.
