Many societies have superstitions which might range from logical to downright absurd. For example, a black cat or crow is often associated with evil and possibly death on some societies. Asia is home to diverse cultures. One of its most developed civilizations is Japan. However, the country’s rich and diverse culture also holds some of the most bizarre superstitions known to modern man. Here are 5.

1 – Trimming nails after dark


A popular superstition advises against getting your nails done after dark. After death, the Japanese people believe that the spirit reunites with loved ones in the afterworld. However, getting a manicure or pedicure after dark shuts you off from reuniting with your parents in the afterlife.
