Newest addition to the Ivory Music family, Carlo Aquino performs his new single ‘Komplikado’ last April 7th, Sunday at the Lucky China Town Mall, with Eevee as a guest performer.
Carlo is known for his various TV and film appearances, including Hiling, Kokey, Bata, Bata, Pa’no Ka Ginawa?, the Tanging Ina series, Hereral Luna, and Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral. He recently appeared alongside Angelica Panganiban in film Exes Baggage.
The 33-year old singer-actor proved than more than his good looks and acting skills, he can also pen songs that still strike a chord even in this today’s generation. During the blog con held before his show, he admits that he is a staunch supporter of local homegrown talents/bands like Ben&Ben, Mayonnaise, and Unique and wishes to collaborate soon if given the chance.
He also shared that if he were to write more songs, he’d prefer to write about life in general.
As expected, Aquino was showered with adoration from his enthused fans as he also performed cover songs including “Antukin”, “Maybe the Night”, and his latest single “Komplikado”.
When asked how ‘Komplikado’ was written, he mentioned it was a collaboration with Silent Santuary front man, Sarkie Sarangay. Personally, this song is something a lot of people struggling in a relationship can relate to on a deeper level — with its crafty arrangement, and hauntingly beautiful metaphors.
He also doesn’t shy away from applying the full range of his music influences to create a new track that speaks from the heart.
Among a sea of such talented celebrities who chose to pursue their career in music, needless to say, Carlo Aquino’s artistry, resounding voice, and unassuming personality is something to admire and respect.
Certainly a breathtaking talent.
