Starting on December 27, 2022, All SIM Cards in the Philippines need to be registered to be used in compliance with the SIM Card Registration Act. Where to register your Smart SIM card?

For Smart Prepaid, Smart Bro, and TNT subscribers, you can register your SIM card via the link https://smart.com.ph/simreg.

Smart Prepaid and TNT subscribers can now register their SIM and get 3 GB FREE data upon completing these three easy steps:

  • Step 1. Visit the portal at http://www.smart.com.ph/simreg
  • Step 2. Input your information and upload your valid ID
  • Step 3. Wait for an SMS confirmation and get 3 GB FREE Data

Smart’s SIM card registration portal uses optical character recognition (OCR), the technology required by the law to efficiently gather and protect subscribers’ personal information throughout the process.

Smart is also making its SIM Registration portal even more accessible to subscribers through these alternative channels:

  • Smart Stores nationwide
  • Smart Hotlines (call *888 via Smart/TNT mobile, or 8888-1111 via landline)
  • Smart Facebook Messenger Chatbot
  • Smart GigaLife App (downloadable on the App Store and Google Play Store)

Smart Postpaid subscribers

On the other hand, in compliance with the law, Smart is making SIM Registration more convenient for postpaid subscribers, who need to confirm the personal information and IDs they submitted for their postpaid plan application. To do this confirmation, subscribers need to text YES to 5858. They shall then receive a confirmation message from Smart upon successful SIM Registration.

Smart Bro subscribers

Meanwhile, to register the SIM inserted in their WiFi device, Smart Bro subscribers need to refer to  www.smart.com.ph/viewbroadbandsms for instructions on viewing their required One-Time Password (OTP).

Sim Card Registration Requirements for Foreigners

For Foreign Subscribers, a registration form must be accomplished and submitted electronically through the SIM Registration Portal containing the following information:

  • Full Name;
  • Nationality;
  • Passport Number;
  • Address in the Philippines;
  • Alternative Contact Number or Email Address
  • The additional information and documents set out below, depending on the visa type held by the foreign national.

For foreign nationals visiting as tourists under Section 9(2) of Commonwealth Act No. 613, as amended (“Tourist Visa”), the following documents must be submitted in support of the application:

  • Passport;
  • Proof of Address in the Philippines;
  • Return Ticket to own country of the tourist, or any other ticket showing the date and time of departure from the Philippines.

For foreign nationals holding other types of visas, the following documents must be submitted in support of the application:

  • Passport;
  • Proof of Address in the Philippines;
  • Alien Certificate of Registration Identification Card of ACRI-Card issued by the Bureau of Immigration (BI);
  • Alien Employment Permit issued by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE);
  • School registration and ID for students;
  • For Persons of Concern, the type of travel or admission document validly issued by the Department of Justice; and/or
    Other pertinent documents, whichever is applicable.

SIMs that are registered by foreign nationals holding a Tourist Visa, shall only be valid temporarily for thirty (30) days, and shall be subject to Automatic Deactivation thereafter. The Subscriber may request for an extension of the validity of the SIM prior to its expiration through the Company’s assisted channels, provided the said foreign national submits an approved visa extension.

Foreign nationals with other types of visas can acquire a SIM without the thirty (30) day temporary validity period.

Where to register your DITO SIM card?

Existing DITO customers can register their SIMS through the DITO APP starting December 27, 2022.

New subscribers can register via the SMS link sent after SIM card insertion. Existing subscribers can register by clicking the SIM Registration banner in the DITO APP.

How and Where to register your Globe SIM card?

Your data and information are deemed included in our platform for existing Globe Postpaid, Globe Platinum, and Globe Business Postpaid customers. Globe will get in touch with you to confirm and complete your registration details to align them with the requirements of the law.

For Prepaid, Globe At Home Prepaid WiFi, and MyFi, follow the steps below.

  1. Access the SIM registration website.
  2. Enter your 10-digit mobile number (ex. 9171234567) and click the “Register” button.
  3. If eligible to register, you’ll receive a One Time Pin (OTP) text message on your mobile phone.
  4. Enter the 6-digit OTP on the registration website. Note that the OTP expires in five minutes.
  5. After your OTP is validated, you may now proceed with the registration.
  6. Enter all required fields: Name, Birthday, Gender, Address, and Nationality
  7. Take a selfie and select the type of government ID to be uploaded. Click the “attach” button to upload a copy of your valid government ID.
  8. Tick the checkbox to agree with Globe’s Privacy Notice, Attestation of Completeness and Accuracy, Marketing and Promotional Permissioning, and Data Sharing.
  9. Click the “Submit” button to finish the registration process.
  10. A reference number will appear on your screen to signify the completion of registration. Please keep the reference number as proof of registration.

  • Driver’s License
  • National Bureau of Investigation clearance
