A designer based in London creates a not so usual house design.
- The architect creates a house made out of shipping containers and you won’t believe how beautiful it turned out.
You can say that living in a house made out of shipping container in the core of the desert is not exactly a fun idea. But you will definitely have second thoughts once you see the spectacular design of James Whitaker, a designer based in London.
The house, complete with a living room, 3 bedrooms and kitchen measures 200 sq. m. and made from numerous conjoined shipping containers that have been set at various diverse angles. It has been designed to look like a blooming flower in the desert. It is made to appear like it is from another dimension.
The house was designed and created for a film producer who has an infatuation for promoting creative projects. Obviously, this project is more than just creative. Have you ever seen something more creative than this one?
According to James Whitaker, “Earlier this year my client in LA had some friends visiting and, having a little time to spare, they all went on a road trip to visit the client’s plot of land in Joshua Tree,” Furthermore, he said that one friend suggested something that would look good on that spot and opened her laptop to show him a design. It was something he had made a few years ago but was never able to build and so while the said client was in London, he got in touch with him and asked for a meetup.
The Joshua Tree Residence, as the home is called, is going to be built on the ninety-acre California lot of the client. The construction of the project is set to begin by next year.
The residence will be powered by solar panels and will offer a stunning view of the picturesque landscape. More info: Whitaker Studio
