- Armed suspects rob a pub not knowing it was full of police officers
- Robbers got caught and held without bond; police officers facing investigation for alleged use of force
It was a robbery that ended up like a comic act. Two robbers came up to rob a pub unaware that it was full of police officers. Can you imagine that scene? It’s like you are watching a movie.
The suspects entered the pub’s take-out portion then held up one employee at gunpoint. The employee who was behind the counter was aware that a retirement party was currently ongoing at the pub. It was for a police officer; the reason why the pub was loaded with police officers.
The suspects haven’t gone far enough yet so the police officers were able to go after the robbers.
“I’m sure that they weren’t planning on there being a large room filled with police officers,” Baltimore County police Officer Jennifer Peach said according to a wbaltv.com’s report.
They did not divulge how much the suspects were able to take from the pub. Luckily for both the employees and patrons, no one got hurt on the incident.
The Baltimore County police now hold custody of the suspects. The police officers said they were sure that the suspects did not plan to rob a pub that is full of police officers. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have barged in if they were aware. They won’t think they can escape, what with the number of police officers inside.
Tyree McCoy, 22 and Joseph McInnis III, 21 may have gotten away at first but they were caught at once and they are now held at the Baltimore County Detention Center without bail.
It’s been reported by 11 News I-Team that the police are reviewing McCoy’s arrest because of claims that the officers used force on him. There was a police incident report which said that an officer hit McCoy because they were not able to control his arms right away.
