Brazilian soccer star Neymar’s record-breaking €222 million (about $263 million) transfer to the French team Paris Saint-Germain is moving a step closer when FC Barcelona stated that he will leaving the team.
Accompanied by his father and agent, Neymar gave his team last Wednesday morning is intentions to leave.
Neymar has been targeted by the French Team who will pay him $26 Million plus buyout clause in full.
“The player Neymar Jr, accompanied by his father and agent, has informed FC Barcelona this morning of his decision to leave the club in a meeting held at the club’s offices”
“The club refers to the buy-out clause of his existing contract which as of 1 July totals 222 million euros.”
The soccer star signed a new contract with Barcelona last October. Based on the contract’s terms, he will be with team until 2021. The buy-out clause was also raised more than double, making it the biggest transfer fee in the whole soccer history.
PSG is one of the world’s richest clubs after it took over Qatar Sports Investments. If he transfers to PSG, analysts are stating it will have an effect on the club finances for several years. However, the impact on operations cannot be judged in advance.
More Time to Think
Ernesto Valvarde, Barcelona’s manager had given Neymar permission not to train to think about and sort out his future.
If Neymar will be leaving before the end of his contract, the club suggested in the team statement that it would only have to pay a percentage of the contract extension bonus.
Agreed to Everything
ESPN reported last July that Neymar has already agreed to the terms and conditions of PSG. French media outlet L’Equipe also reported last Tuesday that there is already a team physical for the soccer star.
