During an interview with TMZ, Kanya West declared that the 400 years of slavery is “a choice.”
People were surprised by his statements.
Twitter users started to share their own version of the statement and the hashtag #IfSlaveryWasAChoice trended worldwide.
Kanye West is the center of everyone’s attention again. This week, Twitter timelines became subjected to the verbal antics of the rapper: From calling President Donald Trump as his brother and praising Candace Owens. However, what became the icing on the cake was when during his interview with TMZ Live, he declared that the 400 years of slavery is actually “a choice.”
The TMZ Newsroom staff Van Lathan was clearly surprised by his response and reductive remarks. He immediately told Kanye:
I think what you’re doing right now is actually the absence of thought.
Twitter Posts About Kanye West
It did not take long for people from Twitter to jump on board. Users started to highlight the sheer absurdity of Kanye’s words in different hilarious and witty ways.
Last week, the hashtag #IfSlaveryWasAChoice took over Twitter and what can we say? Everyone needs a good laugh!
Responses From His Fellow Rappers
Fellow rappers Snoop Dogg and 50 Cent decided to show their Instagram followers how Photoshop works. Last Thursday, Snoop Dogg shared a photo of Kanya, completely whitewashed and with a goatee.
He also completed it with a funny caption:
The new. Kanye well all white now way to go dude.
Being the ultimate troll that he is, 50 Cent also shared the same photo but with a different caption:
Slavery was a choice, get the strap. #power #theoath
Unfortunately, the post was reported.
To clarify his statements, Kanye compared himself to Harriet Tubman and Nat Turner. Unfortunately, the damage has been done, especially to people of his own race.
