- Martin Andanar to conduct thorough investigation on Mocha Uson’s alleged gigs
- Presidential Spokesman Ernesto Abella to distance himself from the issue.
Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar is set to look into reports that undersecretary Mocha Uson frequently goes to Resorts World Manila casino to perform at the bar when Malacanang has already issued a Memorandum Circular which prohibits public officials to go to casinos.
Mocha Uson, Presidential Communications Assistant Secretary and lead singer of Mocha Girls has allegedly disobeyed government order that public servants cannot enter casinos by performing numerous times in said venue and Secretary Martin Andanar is set to look into the matter further since PCOO officials are advised to act in accordance with the order, he announced today, September 7, 2017.
He even added that he will dissuade the Mocha Girl from performing onstage in prohibited places.
The memorandum circular issued by Malacanang bans public servants from going inside casinos and it also directs agency heads like Andanar to constantly remind their subordinates to follow this memorandum and impose necessary actions in case they fail to do so.
According to Presidential Spokesperson, Ernesto Abella, an investigation must be done if there is a truth behind the allegations. He said that the policy needs to be practiced but this particular matter should be reviewed with scrutiny.
He added that it will be up to Andanar to address the issue, clearly distancing himself. “That will have to be a matter to be settled by the PCOO,” Abella said.
Apparently, Andanar knows of Uson’s performances, even giving her his consent to do all those performances but it was uncertain if he has knowledge of where those performances were done, a Palace source narrated.
Mocha Girls are set to perform again at 360, a bar in Resorts World Manila on Tuesday, September 12, 2017, although the list “has since been deleted” on the Casino official website.
