- The newly designed crown of Miss World Philippines is called The PEARL of the ORIENT Crown
The crown was made by jewelry designer Manny Halasan who named it “The Crown of the Pearl of the Orient Seas”.
The crown was specifically made for the new queen who embodies Miss World Philippines’ “beauty with a purpose.”
Stunning is such an understatement if you will describe the new crown for the Miss World Philippines pageant. It won’t be called “Pearl of the Orient” for nothing. Its exquisite beauty is truly a sight you will never get tired of looking again and again.
The new crown for the pageant was presented last Thursday by the organizers of Miss World Philippines at the New World Hotel. The public was simply amazed at its stunning grandeur. It was definitely a sight to behold.
The presentation of the elegantly fashionable crown was led by the general manager Bessie Besana and the national director Arnold Vegafria last Thursday in Makati City; this being their first in this pageant after a change of franchise.
Miss Megan Young, Miss World 2013, had the privilege to introduce the crown to the public on Thursday, according to a GMA News report.
According to Megan Young, she was a part of the team who finalized the details on the crown and she was definitely glad about the result for it symbolizes the country in a stylish way without losing the character of the country. She had collaborated with a renowned jeweler for the creation of this crown. It is truly a crown you consider as one who symbolizes the Philippines; a crown to be proud of.
The crown, as described by Megan Young further was made up of sapphires that symbolize the seas surrounding the country and of pearls that represent the Pearl of the Orient. Megan explained further, “We are a country full of islands. Those two specific traits of the crown really make it something different.” The crown, as promised by organizers, was more elegant than crowns in previous years and in tune with the silver and blue motif of the pageant.
During the event, title holders on the previous years were also present; Hillarie Parungao (2015), Valerie Weigmann (2014), Queenie Rhemann (2012), and Gwendoline Ruais (2011).
The beauty queen who will emerge as Miss World Philippines this year will be the first to wear the “Pearl of the Orient Crown” She will be the lucky one to wear this stunning crown over her head. The candidates must be really excited not just for winning the title but for the privilege of having the crown for herself during her reign aside from the fact that the titlist this year will be the very first one to wear the “Pearl of the Orient” crown.
The coronation night of this grand event will happen on September 3, 2017, Sunday at the ARENA, SM MOA.
Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas 2017, Miss Eco Philippines 2017 and Miss Multinational 2017; the other candidates will have a chance to bag this other prestigious titles on the coronation night.
