This man proved that love can cut through a mountain.
Dashrath Manjhi was a poor man from India, who earned global fame for single-handedly carving a 360-foot long road through a hill, reducing the travel from 70kms to 1km from his village to the nearest hospital. They call him the Mountain Man.
Triggered by the death of his wife who died due to lack of medical care, this landless farmer sold his goats to buy hammer and chisel to create a road that would improve the lives of his community. Mocked by his people for what seems to be an impossible vision, Dashrath didn’t get discouraged and finished the road in 22 years.
The Mountain Man’s heroic and selfless love for his people made him immortal in the eyes of those who know his glorious story.
