Pia Wurtzbach Blamed for Rachel Peters Loss in Miss Universe?

Has this something to do with the battle between the “Aces & the Flores”?

2015 Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach was being bashed on social media for Philippine representative Rachel Peters failure to get a spot as Top 5 finalist in the recently held Miss Universe pageant.

According to some reports, Wurtzbach was being blamed by netizens for being in the judges’ panel.

Some netizens were being superstitious saying that Pia as a judge jinxed the Philippines’ chance to win this year’s pageant.

On the other hand, other social media users accused Pia for being insecure that’s why she had given Rachel a low score while she was judging.

There were also some rumors that Pia just didn’t want Rachel to outshine her especially in the Q&A portion wherein Rachel was believed to do great had she reached the Top 5.

Here are some tweets and threads that were highly critical of Pia, accusing her of sabotaging Rachel’s chance to take home the Miss Universe crown.

However, not all netizens think the same way about Pia.  Some of them defended and showed support to the former Miss Universe and asked others to deal with their disappointments, move on and stop pointing fingers.

Furthermore, there were also some reports saying that the rivalry between Pia Wurtzbach and Rachel Peters were deeply rooted since the two belong to rival beauty camps.

Pia is under the Aces and Queens headed by Jonas Gaffud, while Peters is under Kagandahang Flores headed by Rodgil Flores.

The “War of the Aces and Flores” reportedly started in 2014 when a beauty queen veteran switched camps from Aces and Queens to Kagandahang Flores.

Meanwhile, Pia Wurztbach answered these unfairly critical accusations like a queen.

Regarding the superstition, she believed that it has no solid basis.

She told Philstar, “I don’t think so. I don’t think that they would allow you to join if you’re already destined to not get the crown. I don’t think pageants would do that. That’s not really fair. And I don’t think there’s a curse either or there’s a jinx.”

Pia also posted her official statement on her Instagram account:
