The Philippines is known for its reputation as one of the powerhouses when it comes to international pageants. Binibining Pilipinas, the most prestigious beauty pageant in the country, is now searching for a new batch of queens and follow the winning footsteps of our beauty queens and carry the country’s incredible streak.
For those who are interested to apply, you have until Monday, January 8, to submit your application. All the applicants will go through a rigorous screening process which will be led by Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. Chairwoman Madam Stella Marquez Araneta, which will culminate on January 15.
What Are Up for Grabs?
Successful applicants will get a chance to take home the title and represent the country in prestigious international beauty pageants: Miss Universe Philippines, Binibining Pilipinas Grand International, Binibining Pilipinas International, Binibining Pilipinas Supranational, Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental, and Binibining Pilipinas Globe.
Binibining Pilipinas produced queens who made the country proud. In 2015, Pia Wurtzbach ended the Philippines’ 43-year-droght when she won the Miss Universe title and became one of the most talked-about pageants. A year later, Kylie Verzosa bagged the sixth Miss International title for the country.
The winners for last year were not to outdone too. Nelda Ibe finished as first runner up during the Miss Globe competition in Albania while Elizabeth Clenci grabbed the second runner-up at the Miss Grand International contest held in Vietnam. Rachel Peters also landed in the Top 10 of the Miss Universe pageant in Las Vegas while Chanel Olive Thomas took home the Miss Friendship award and one of the Top 10 slots at the Miss Supranational contest in Poland. Binibining Pilipinas International Mariel De Leon has a budding showbiz career and starred in Coco Martin’s “Ang Panday” movie. Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental Katarina Rodriguez is slated to compete on January 25 in Egypt this year.
