This Artist Chooses to Focus His Life On One Thing We All Tend to Neglect

Can you recall the last time you write something using pen or pencil? In these times when electronics are revolutionizing the way we live particularly the way we write, we find ourselves guilty of neglecting the old-fashioned yet elegant art of penmanship.

However, there is this one individual, who chooses to focus his life on the art of handwriting and calligraphy. Artist Jake Weidmann is the world’s youngest master penman in the United States by three decades. He is one of the only twelve left in the world designated as master penman.

This short video features Weidmann’s passion for exquisite and meticulously-detailed hand-lettering. He also talks about his style and shows off some of his paintings, drawing and other artworks.

Were you inspired by the beauty of Weidmann’s work? Do you think that the art of penmanship is dead? Feel free to leave your comments below.
