Gentle Giant Bubbles: The African Elephant Is Best friends With A Black Labrador
After both her parents got killed, Bubbles now have a family whom she belongs to.
It is all too common for a dog and/or cat to be man’s best friend but for different species of animals to be friends with each other? It’s not that all common but Bubbles and Bella beat the odds by doing the exact thing.
Bubbles is a 9,000 pound (about 4,082kg) African elephant who is best friends with Bella, a black Labrador retriever and would you believe that these two are inseparable? They both live in Myrtle Beach Safari in South Carolina.
When the swimming pool for Bubbles was built in 2007, the contractor they hired left Bella when she was still a puppy at the Preserve and this was how they met and became friends.
Bubbles and Bella enjoy living and playing together; they play ball, swim and walk together and just enjoy each other’s company as proven in the videos and photos. When they are playing, Bubbles toss the ball to the water and Bella jumps off her back to swim and get the ball. Bubbles
When they are playing, Bubbles toss the ball to the water and Bella jumps off her back to swim and get the ball. Bubbles was rescued in 1983 in Africa after her parents got killed by poachers and the park took her in, in 2007. From weighing only 300 pounds, she is now a whopping 9,000 pounds and she loves swimming.
Brutal Ivory poachers victimized her family in 1981 and only a few survived, including her. To this day, alarming numbers of elephants are being “poached for their ivory”.
But for Bubbles who is now enjoying her life in the park, all is well and although she and her family experienced something so tragic, she now has found family and she gets to swim in her own pool which she loves so much.
