Netizens were wondering how the groom got a Certificate of No Marriage (CENOMAR) or Certificate of Singleness if he was already married.

Apart from the CENOMAR, other requirements of getting married include a latest certified true copy of the couple’s PSA birth certificates, notarized affidavit of parental consent or advice for applicants below 25 years old and Certificate of Attendance in a pre-marriage counseling, family planning, and responsible parenthood seminar.

Last July, Senator Risa Hontiveros has refiled a bill allowing for absolute divorce in the Philippines, a measure that is expected to earn strong opposition from the Catholic Church.

In her explanatory note of the bill, Hontiveros noted that save for Vatican City, the Philippines is the only country in the world where divorce is illegal.

“Despite this, the number and proportion of Filipinos who are separate have been increasing over time — demonstrating that the denial of legal remedies to those seeking to dissolve their union has largely been an ineffective way of upholding the policy of the State to keep families together,” Hontiveros said in her explanatory note.

The viral video draws mixed reactions from Facebook users. Read some of their reactions:
