eats and treats, fitness and fun for the whole family.
TIKIM is a Filipino word that means “to taste” and the 5k fun run, presented by TFC Live, will take runners through a course with a Filipino food tasting station at each kilometer of the way. Each station is a celebration of different Filipino flavors. This year’s theme is Filipino street food. The street food scene in the Philippines is arresting, as it is intriguing, and TIKIM hopes to capture the spirit and substance of Filipino street food with an offering that go the range from mild to hella wild. One must see it, or rather, run the course to be blown away by the offerings.

After the run, the fun continues with a post-run picnic that features more Filipino food – from savory to sweet, stage activities with performances by Trace Repeat, a Bay Area soul and funk band from Oakland, and guitar virtuoso Jinx Jones and The Kingtones. There will also be the much-awaited balut-eating contest plus other classic Filipino reunion games.

Aside from being a fun run, TIKIM is also a philanthropic event. According to ABS-CBN Global Head of Events Ricky Resurreccion, “It is a way to give back, as part of the proceeds of the TIKIM Filipino Food Fun Run registration will be donated to the feeding program of Bantay Bata (the Child Watch program of ABS-CBN Foundation International).” By registering and joining the fun run, each adult runner registration provides meals to six (6) * undernourished children in the Philippines.
