Meet The Future Billiard Superstar
Manila, Philippines — A lot of Filipinos are probably familiar with Efren “Bata” Reyes. Popular for his moniker “Billiard King” or “The Magician”, Reyes won several billiards competition in the past, raising the flag of the Philippines in the international scene.

With his prowess in playing this famous sport, he eventually became a well-renowned sports figure. In fact, he was even part of some Filipino TV Commercials and movies mainly because of his large fanbase during his time.
At the moment, the popular sportsman is already 64 years old. While he is still good at it, it is undeniable that he is no longer as clever and sharp as before.
It seems, however, that a Pinoy teen — who is aged 14 — is following Bata’s footsteps. His name is Bernie Regalario.

Back in January 2019, this 14 years old athlete nabbed the first place during the Battle of the Champion 10. From May 17 to 26, he is also competing in the 1st Vandal 10-Ball Amateur Handicapping Billiard Tournament. It is being held at Vandal Sports Bar, which can be spotted in 107 Mother Ignacia Avenue, Quezon City.

Bernie Regalario wishes to do well in the said tournament. If in case he wins in this competition, he is going to receive a trophy along with a Php 70,000 reward.
You might be surprised to know that his kid enters Junior High School as a Grade 9 student. It is also worth noting that he is a part of the Wilde Blue Junior Pool Team. This group is being backed by the local distributor of Volturi Custom Cases in the Philippines — Mr. Nino Lopez.
At any rate, if this young man continues to dominate in upcoming billiards tournaments, then there is really a high chance he is going to be the next “Efren” of the Philippines.
There’s also a big possibility that he could land in a few major tournaments that involve the best players from different places across the globe.
