A group of teenage friends earned praises after buying a kid some food and toys
Manila, Philippines — Netizens from different parts of the globe were quick to give praises to this group of teenage boys after Thirdy Echenique Dela Torre III posted their good deed on Facebook.

They then saw this young student that appeared to be hungry and poor as he did not wear slippers during the time. What struck Dela Torre and his friends was when he picked a piece of fried chicken and handed only Php 4.00 to the vendor.
“Nalungkot lang ako bigla naawa na den kaya ayun binalik namen sa kanya yung binayad nya na pera tapos binili pa namen sya ng madami,” wrote Dela Torre.
But that’s not all. Dela Torre recounted that the group even bought a pair of slippers plus a white T-Shirt for the young boy. This is so the child will have something to wear every time he goes to school.
He also shared his thoughts on people who always complain about having old things when there are people, just like the young boy who they met, who do not have the capacity to purchase one.
“Nakakainis lang isipin na yung iba dyan nagrereklamo kesyo luma na daw yung ganito nya luma na daw yung ganyan juskoooo nagiinarte kapa buti nga ikaw may ganyan ka eh apakablessed mo na kayaa kung alam mo lang,” he added.
He further said that they even bought a ball for the boy to play with.
He shared that there is this good feeling to hear the words “thank you” from a child. He further said that there is definitely nothing wrong with helping others, with sharing what you have. And that, God, will further bless those who have the heart to do good things to other people.
Lastly, he noted that he posted the story and photos on his account not to brag, but to encourage other people to also share what they have, especially to children who are really in need.
As of this writing, the post has gained more than 15,000 reactions, 1,900 comments, and 6,400 shares.
