Mico Palanca has Passed Away at Age 41

His passing was confirmed by his sister Erika Hocson through an post on social media.

  • On December 9, 2019, his sister Erika Hocson posted in social media of the passing of his brother
  • Investigating the cause of death is still ongoing but there have been talks that it was apparently suicide

Manila, Philippines – Mico Palanca, younger brother of actor Bernard Palanca, has been reported to have passed away on December 9, 2019. His sister Erika Hocson has posted in her own Instagram account, confirming what happened. A statement from his family further confirmed the sad news.

“We are extremely saddened by the sudden passing of our beloved brother, Miko Palanca. The whole family is grateful for the incredible outpour of love and support that has been coming in today. As of now, we would like to respectfully request for privacy as we go through this very difficult time. Again, we appreciate all the love and support,” their statement said.

The cause of death is still under investigation, but there are certain sources that said he was battling depression, and that he may have committed suicide.

Numerous people in the show business has shown their sympathy to the family that Mico left, with the Film Academy of the Philippines, and his former handler Monch Novales. Others, such as Boy Abunda, had their thoughts and prayers for Mico and his family.

Mico first started his career back in the early 2000’s as being part of the TV show Tabing Ilog. After that, he was able to get other roles in shows like Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay, It Might Be You, among others. He also had roles in a few movies such as All About Love.
