MAKATI CITY, Philippines — On October 24, 2025, the world will once again commemorate World Polio Day. This significant occasion brings together Rotary members, public health advocates, healthcare professionals, partners, and global citizens to reflect on worldwide progress toward eradicating polio and to renew our shared commitment to ending this devastating disease forever.

In a show of solidarity with Rotarians worldwide, Rotary International District 3830—under the leadership of District Governor Regie B. Nolido—will host a special awareness and fundraising event, D3830 Oktoberfest. The event will take place at the iconic Rotary Club of Makati Building in Guadalupe, Makati. This historic site marks a pivotal moment in Philippine healthcare history: it was here, in 1979, that the first polio vaccine dose in the Philippines was administered, launching Rotary’s monumental polio eradication campaign in the country.
The D3830 Oktoberfest will be organized by Chairperson Keith A.D. Harrison and his dedicated committee. The evening promises a vibrant celebration, brimming with energizing Oktoberfest-themed festivities, including expertly curated musical performances, authentic German-inspired cuisine, premium beers, and engaging fellowship activities. Attendees can look forward to hearing favorites from local bands Ang Bagong Luto ni Enriquez and TRES, as well as an electrifying set from the internationally acclaimed DJ John Robinson. In addition to entertainment, the event will feature testimonials from polio survivors, discussions by local health experts about current challenges in eradication, and opportunities to pledge ongoing support.
All funds raised from Oktoberfest will directly benefit Rotary’s End Polio Now campaign, helping to finance critical vaccination programs, outreach education, and advocacy initiatives essential in the worldwide fight against polio.
We invite you to join Rotary District 3830 as we celebrate progress made, honor the heroes of the movement, and continue the push to END POLIO NOW. Your participation not only supports a worthy cause—it brings the world one step closer to ending polio for good.
