Manila, Philippines – Traveling through the streets of Metro Manila can become a bit confusing if it is your first time driving in that location. In most cases, the streets are not clearly marked and there are plenty of twists and turns that might get you confused on where to go.
Waze is a mobile app for both smartphones and tables that help with navigation. It was initially developed by Israeli company Waze Mobile, and was acquired by Google in June 2013.
What makes Waze unique is that you can have it give you directions with voice prompts, telling you when and where to turn. There are different options regarding the voice that you can use, and even the language, with the app being able to provide directions in Filipino. Now, you have an additional option on what voice to use if you want to feel like you have a beauty queen with you.
In a report by ABS-CBN, Catriona Gray now has her voice as an option in Waze, also making her the first Filipino celebrity to lend her voice to the app. In a statement by Waze, she can give you tips in your travel such as “Time to park the car and do the lava walk.”
Waze said they partnered with BDO Unibank in order for them to be able to launch the additional voice in their service.
In a statement, Catriona said she was happy to lend her voice to the navigation app, as she wants to keep motorists happy and inspired despite the heavy traffic that they need to go through everyday.
Having Waze to help you with your navigation is good, and having Catriona Gray guide you further to your destination may indeed lessen the stress that Metro Manila traffic may give you.
