MANILA, Philippines — Miss Philippines Kelly Day was crowned first runner-up at the coronation night of Miss Eco International 2021. The pageant was held in Egypt on Sunday.

South Africa’s Gizzelle Mandy Uys was crowned as this year’s Miss Eco International. The rest of the runners-up came from Venezuela, United States, and Costa Rica.
During the pageant preliminaries, Kelly Day of the Philippines won the Best National Costume award held at Baron Resort Sharm El Sheikh on Friday.

Kelly is a former member of the GirlTrends dance group of the noontime show “It’s Showtime.” She won the Miss Eco Philippines title during the Miss World Philippines 2019 pageant.
The Tarlac native wore a red Maria Clara-inspired Filipiniana dress created by Louis Pangilinan.
Kelly was supposed to represent the country in Miss Eco International 2020, slated in March 2020, but the pageant was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Miss Eco International is a beauty pageant based in Egypt and is owned by Ecospire Co. Officially registered in The Ministry of Culture of Egypt on May 09, 2015. The pageant aims at promoting environmental awareness and eco-tourism.
