The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has assured Filipino consumers that prices of monitored basic necessities and prime commodities (BNPCs) will remain unchanged until December 31, 2026, helping households manage their grocery budgets amid concerns about rising costs and the potential effects of El Niño.

The agency also confirmed that supplies of essential goods covered by its monitoring program remain sufficient to meet household demand nationwide. Consumers are not expected to panic-buy or stockpile, according to the DTI.
DTI Monitors 190 Products Under Its SRP Bulletin
The price commitment applies specifically to products included in the DTI’s official Suggested Retail Price (SRP) bulletin. The updated list covers 190 stock-keeping units (SKUs), including essential food and non-food items the agency monitors.
The SRP bulletin serves as a reference for consumers and retailers when checking the suggested prices of covered goods. Shoppers can consult the list to identify which products fall under the DTI’s price monitoring program.
To make the information accessible, the department has posted the official bulletin in supermarkets and grocery stores nationwide. Consumers can also check the DTI’s official website and social media channels for the updated list.
DTI Assures Consumers of Sufficient Supply
Trade and Industry Secretary Cristina A. Roque issued the assurance amid public concerns about how El Niño could affect the prices and availability of essential commodities.
Roque said manufacturers and retailers had committed to maintaining sufficient supplies of the listed products while keeping prices unchanged through the end of 2026.
The DTI continues to coordinate with manufacturers and retailers to monitor inventory levels, maintain regular deliveries, and help ensure covered goods remain available in supermarkets and grocery stores nationwide.
The agency’s announcement offers some reassurance to households planning their grocery expenses for the remainder of the year. However, consumers should remember that the commitment applies only to products on the official DTI list, not every item sold in supermarkets.
How Consumers Can Check Prices and Report Violations
Filipino shoppers are encouraged to check the official BNPC list before making purchases to confirm whether a product is covered by the DTI’s price commitment.
Consumers who notice possible price violations or experience supply issues involving listed products can contact the department through the following channels:
- DTI Hotline: 1-384
- Email: consumercare@dti.gov.ph
- Email: ReporttoSec@dti.gov.ph
Checking the official SRP bulletin helps shoppers make informed purchasing decisions and identify potential discrepancies in monitored products.
With the DTI continuing to monitor supplies and coordinate with industry stakeholders, consumers can use the official list as a practical reference when planning household purchases through December 31, 2026.
