Dan Ombao Idol Philippines Audition Video Goes Viral
Manila, Philippines — Idol Philippines contestant and ex-The Voice of the Philippines hopeful Dan Ombao has recently become the talk of the town because of his viral audition video.
He may have not reached his star before, but 23-year-old Ombao is making a comeback — and it appears that he is on his way to be the next “idol” in the Philippines.
Earlier in May, fans have seen Ombao on a Sunday episode of the Idol Philippines. He wowed the judges with his version of the song “Nobela” by Join the Club.
Moira dela Torre, one of the judges and her former contestant in The Voice of the Philippines, was very impressed about Dan’s performance.
“Ang galing,” she said. “Sobrang galing.”
The popular comedian Vice Ganda tagged his performance sexy.
“Alam mo ‘yung pag-ganun mo pa lang ng gitara, wala ka pang boses, may naramdaman na agad ako. Ang sexy, ang sarap sa tunog, ang sarap sa pakiramdam. Ang galing,” he said.
Apart from Vice and Moira, the other two judges of the show include Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez and heartthrob James Reid.
It is good to note that Ombao got the nod of all of the judges during his audition.

The Idol Philippines is aired via ABS-CBN during Saturdays just after “Home Sweetie Home” as well as Sundays just after “Wansapanataym.
The host of the show is no other than Billy Crawford.

It can be remembered that during his stint in The Voice of the Philippines, his blind audition video — where he sang “Tadhana” — has also made rounds on the web. In fact, just after his audition at “Idol,” his previous videos have also gained traction because of fans craving for more of his songs. Dan was part of Team Sarah during the time. He was not able to qualify in the succeeding rounds after the battle round, because Sarah Geronimo chose Jason Dy over him. After the show, he also made TV appearances and he was involved in a lot of gigs. Unfortunately, Ombao said in an interview, he was not focused during the time and he was not able to manage his showbiz career well.
Now, he is finally back. And, he is absolutely an early favorite.
