The way things from Korea became popular, specially in the Philippines, can be clearly seen everywhere. Local TV channels had aired localized Korean drama series and lots of Korean beauty products and stores have opened in malls. Korean pop music, or K-pop, is also very popular and Momoland is one of those groups.
Momoland is a 9-member girl group that were formed from a reality show called Finding Momoland. They initially had seven members, with an eliminated contestant from the show added after, and another eliminated contestant from the show Produce 101. They have been performing in South Korea, but their song “Bhoom Bhoom” became a worldwide hit, and in the Philippines, it became very popular. Those that were not into K-pop would have also known at least the group’s name, the song’s title, and at least the name of one of the members.

Momoland had visited the country before, and was able to meet Chavit Singson and Manny Pacquiao in August 2018. They also had their own concert that was held on January 2019.
From an article by ABS-CBN, the group is coming back and will have a concert on October 5, 2019, called “Good Friends in Manila,” to be held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. With them, they have Kim Jaehwan and Ha Sungwoon, who are former members of the group Wanna One.

Not only will Momoland hold the concert on October 5, according to their agency, MLD Entertainment, all earnings from that event will be donated to charity. From a statement made by the said agency, all proceeds will be for children of barangays San Jose and Calawis in Antipolo City.
If you are a Momoland fan, or if you like K-pop, don’t miss out on this. You’ll be able to watch your favorite girl group and give to charity at the same time.
