Manila, Philippines – The Civil Service Commission has held their latest Civil Service Exam – Pen & Paper Test (CSE-PPT) on August 4, 2019, in different exam centers located in all regions of the country, including NCR, CAR, CARAGA, and ARMM. The Civil Service Exam is a test that, if one passes, it makes it easier for Filipinos to get a job in a government office.
For you to qualify to take the Civil Service exam, you must be:
- A Filipino citizen
- At least 18 years old on the day of the application
- Must have a good moral conduct
- Must not have been dishonorably discharged from military service or of a previous government position
- Has not taken the Civil Service Exam three months prior

There are also two types of civil service exams: Subprofessional Civil Service Exam and the Professional Civil Service Exam.

The Subprofessional level only has 165 items and you will have at least 2 hours and 40 minutes as your time limit. If you pass this, you’ll be qualified for any level 1 position for clerical, custodial, and other positions that will only require you to be a graduate of a course that is less than 4 years.
The Professional level, on the other hand, will have 170 items and will have a 3 hour, 10-minute time limit. This is suitable for college graduates that aim to have a level 2 position in a government office.
The Subprofessional level would have questions regarding the following:
- Mathematics
- English
- Clerical Operations
- General Information

Release Date: List of Civil Service Examination Topnotchers
A list of passers will be released soon, while the official exam results will be released 60 days after the last day of examinations or on October 10 to 13, 2019.
Why Do We Need To Pass the Civil Service Exam?
If you plan to work for the government, passing the Civil Service Exam will give you that edge to be able to get in. You will still need to apply for the job, but as a CSE passer, government offices would not ignore your application and you’ll have the better chance of getting the job that you want.
