Sanya Lopez: Newest Calendar Girl of Ginebra San Miguel
It cannot be denied that Ginebra San Miguel’s calendar girls who are announced each year are highly anticipated. And, hot on the heels of the one and only Miss Universe winner Pia Wurtzbach, who was last year’s model, Kapuso actress Sanya Lopez is the newest calendar girl of the liquor brand.

According to the actress, she felt nervous the moment she was revealed as the newest model of Ginebra San Miguel.
“Nervous,” she said describing her anxiety being chosen by the liquor brand as the successor of Pia.

In a report from ABS-CBN News, Lopez said that she was very determined to do well on the photoshoot. In fact, she went through a lot of preparations, including a daily workout and a strict diet. On top of that, she also engaged in Muay Thai, running, as well as boxing.
Ginebra San Miguel said in a statement that Lopez was picked as the calendar girl for the year 2020 because she has the “courage, resiliency, optimism, and never-say-die spirit” – traits that are associated to the brand.

Further, the brand said Lopez embodies someone who never gives up and who is highly motivated to face life’s challenges that may come her way.
“Sanya is truly ‘ganado sa buhay’ as she worked her way up to become one of the most recognizable faces in the entertainment industry today,” said the marketing manager of Ginebra, Ronald Molina.
In a report from Philstar, the actress admitted that she could not believe she was the one who was chosen as the newest calendar girl.
“Mismong ako, hindi makapaniwala… iba kasi pag si Pia Wurtzbach ang nauna, ‘di ba?” she quipped during the interview.

Also, she considers this new opportunity a “huge blessing” to her.
Prior to Lopez, the following actresses also became the face of the said liquor brand: Myrtle Sarrosa, Arci Muñoz, Georgina Wilson, Solenn Heussaff, and Marian Rivera.
