Good news for avid fans of Darna – the superheroine of Pinoy comics! They will soon get their hands on the much anticipated, limited edition Darna Funko Pop Collectible.
ABS-CBN has announced that it is now in the Philippines after being featured in the San Diego Comic Convention (SDCC) 2019 in the United States. The SDCC is deemed the prime focus of the world of comic conventions.
How does the collectible look like?
Judging from the photo that the ABS-CBN has posted on the web, it seems that this Funko Pop collectible mirrors the classic pose of Darna, exuding the distinct spirited presence of the well-renowned Pinay superheroine.
In the SDCC, it is reported that it first appeared in the Gaslamp Quarter — it is the premier entertainment district of San Diego. It then joined the fun at a panel in Hall H which is the biggest stage at the said convention.
The collectible also visited a multitude of booths of Pinoy comic book artists featured at SDCC. It was seen by the Pinoy Funko community along with Filipino-Americans who joined the said conference.

This year is the 70th anniversary of Darna, one of the most famous creations of Mars Ravelo. As such, it is just timely that ABS-CBN partners with Funko which is considered among the most famous makers of licensed pop culture products.
