Poor Farmer who Sold Everything to Fund His Son’s Education Finally Sees Him Graduate from University
The best investment you can make is education, at least they say. That seems to be true for a poor farmer from Thailand who sold all his belongings to fund his only son’s education.

The poor farmer lost his wife in childbirth, but the child survived. There is no telling the number of hardships this poor man endured to raise his son as a single parent, we can only imagine. Despite the odds being against him, the man knew that the best gift he can give to his son, and to some extent himself, is education. It is hard to argue with that.
So, the man vowed to do all in his power to provide his son with the best education he wanted. And when a parent sacrifices his or her life to give you an education, you can only count yourself lucky.
“My father is my biggest pride. Thank you for letting me finish my studies.” The son, beaming with gratitude, said on his graduation day.
It is no surprise the son feels that way. He has his father to thank for his achievement, as without the father’s perseverance, education to him would just be a dream.
It is something of admiration to see a man sacrificing everything to give his child an education, a man from Hmong. For those who don’t know, Hmong is a region in Thailand synonymous with poverty and not many children finish education there.
Many locals of Hmong lives from hand to mouth and therefore, education is a luxury they cannot afford. For them, if you the day ends without any catastrophe, it is a win.
The boy, after finishing high school, joined Ratchpatr University in Chiang Rai. And the touching photos of him standing alongside his father on graduation day have gone viral.
With many modern children taking their parents sacrifices for granted, this touching story is a timely reminder to everyone to always appreciate their parents’ efforts, no matter how small they are.
If you ask me, this dad is the dad of the year!
