Manila, Philippines — 26-year old Samantha Lo was among the six beauty queens to be crowned during the Binibining Pilipinas 2019 coronation, having been crowned as Miss Grand International Philippines 2019.
Among the six who was crowned on June 9, Samantha appears to be the best communicator. She showed this in her speeches and public interviews as well as during her Top 15 Q&A session. Her crown makes it two for Cebu region, in addition to Gazini Ganados, who won Miss Universe Philippines 2019.
Samantha Ashley Lo will now represent the Philippines in the world stage at Miss Grand International pageant in October.

She is a Florida-born
There you go, if you were wondering why Samantha has a great command of English, wonder no more. She was born and raised in Florida, United States. She only moved to the Philippines in 2015 to complete her nursing studies at the University of Cebu.
A Quarter Filipino
Samantha Ashley Lo has a rich cultural and racial heritage, having born of Filipino-Chinese father and Cuban-Nicaraguan mother. This means she is just a one-fourth Filipino.
An Educator
When she came to the Philippines, she took up a job as English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher. She was teaching while still studying for her nursing course.
She was inspired by Kat Rodriguez
It was never in Samantha’s plans to join beauty pageants, but one day she went to a pageant screening camp in Queens Cebu and meet with Miss Intercontinental 2017 Katrina Rodriguez who convinced her to join pageant scene.
Pageant Veteran
After joining pageantry, she contested for Miss Mandaue 2017, but she failed. Later in the same year, she participated in the Binibining Cebu 2017 competition, which she eventually won. In 2018, she was crowned the Best Model of the World Philippines at the Global Asian Model (GLAM) competition.
An Outdoor Person
Winning Binibining Cebu Tourism meant she had to travel more, which she enjoyed doing. And if you check out her Instagram page, you will see she likes exploring new places.
